During the hearing headed by Justice Mohammad Bashir, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to complete the trial of Avenfield reference on first priority over which Nawaz’s lawyer appealed to conclude the hearings of all three cases together.He asked to record the statement of Panama Joint Investigation Team (JIT) head Wajid Zia’s statement in all three references at the same time on which NAB prosecutor Sardar Muzafar said that this could be done before the cross-examination.
He also said that the defence counsel wants to bulldoze the proceedings. Earlier on April 24, Maryam Nawaz’s lawyer completed cross-examination of Wajid Zia.
SC disqualified Sharif from office in July over unreported sources of annual income of about $10,000, a salary the former premier denies ever receiving.The high court also ordered the NAB to investigate and conduct a trial into the Sharif family’s wider finances, including the London properties.
Earlier today, Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that he would have taken the country to new heights, if he had not been ousted from office.
He was talking with the mediamen outside the accountability court hearing corruption cases against him and his family.
Comparing Lahore to Peshawar, Karachi and Quetta, the three-time premier claimed there’s a visible difference in the level of development among the cities.
Lamenting that he’ll be unable to inaugurate the new Islamabad airport and the motorway from Lahore to Multan, Nawaz took comfort in the fact that it was his hard work and commitment which brought the projects to light.
He added that had he been allowed to complete his tenure as prime minister, a ‘new Pakistan’ would have been made, regretting that various quarters continued to pull at the government’s legs.With regards to his corruption trial, Nawaz claimed these are artificial cases and their results will not be accepted.
“Those giving these decisions will regret their action as this is not in the country’s interest,” he asserted.
Replying to a question asked by the journalists about PTI’s Yesterday’s Gathering in Lahore, Maryam Nawaz said PML-N has no need to prove to anyone about its public strength.
Earlier today, Former Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif while talking to the news after reaching AC, said we have not learnt any thing from the past, while India and China becoming friends.
Talking to the newsmen outside the Accountability Court, Nawaz Sharif said that Court disqualified him and Khawaja Asif over “Iqama” with heavy heart.
Former Premier denied replying to a question asked by the journalists regarding yesterday’s public gathering of PTI at Minar-e-Pakistan.He said that India and China coming closer, but sad that we not learnt from the past.
