Pakistan cricket team pacer Muhammad Irfan said on Monday that he refused an offer to play for a United States (US) based basketball team due to his utmost commitment to his country.
In a video message, the 35-year-old fast bowler said that a US-based basketball franchise has offered him a contract but the pacer has refused the offer, although he did not rule out a visit to the States for training.
“I cannot quit playing cricket for Pakistan, I shall play for Pakistan only.” Irfan said.
Irfan has been out of the national team since he was named among players charged for spot-fixing during Pakistan Super League (PSL) second edition, a charge which he later accepted subsequently serving a 6-month ban from cricket.
